SimplyPause

Privacy Policy

Effective 25 October 2026

We never see what you watch. SimplyPause doesn't collect personal data: there's no account, no server, no analytics and no ads.

What stays on your iPhone

To work, SimplyPause keeps these on your iPhone only, in the app's own storage, shared with its Screen Time extensions:

None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. If you back up your iPhone, the backup may include it, handled by Apple under your backup settings.

Screen Time

SimplyPause uses Apple's Screen Time API. Apple keeps your app activity on your iPhone. The apps you pick reach SimplyPause as private tokens that don't say which app they are. For common apps, the pause screen passes on the app's ID so that "Open anyway" can take you back to it; that stays on your iPhone too.

The screen time numbers in Today and Insights are drawn by Apple's Screen Time. SimplyPause can show them but can't read them.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details. Apple's Privacy Policy covers them.

Notifications

Reminders, such as "your time is up" and the Sunday recap, are scheduled on your iPhone. Nothing is sent from a server.

Children

SimplyPause collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

In SimplyPause, go to Settings > Delete my data, or delete the app. Either removes everything above from your iPhone. To turn off Screen Time access, go to iPhone Settings > Screen Time.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
